Thomas Fersen's journey into the world of creativity began with a maternal grandmother who was a seamstress and a mother who, as a nurse, adeptly handled needle and thread. It was within his own room that young Thomas Fersen developed a taste for the costumes his mother crafted for him and for characters born out of his imagination. This inclination, especially towards animals, continues to influence his stage presence, evident today when he appears as a pink rabbit…
He was once a cable guy, a bar pianist, and eventually an author of two 45 rpm records. In June 1992, he recorded his first album, "Le Bal des oiseaux," an immediate success that earned him the Victoire de la musique award for Male Revelation in 1994.
Throughout his eleven albums, depending on the years and his whims, Thomas Fersen sings and embodies the carrot ("Les Ronds de carottes"), the fish ("Le Jour du poisson"), the cow ("Un coup de queue de vache")... up until his most recent album released in 2019, "C'est tout ce qu'il me reste" (It's all that's left for me), where his character, his hero, revisits his supposed escapades as a "hot" (pink) rabbit. The album was released under his own label, Editions Bucéphale.
In 2012, Thomas Fersen embarked on an unconventional show, "L'histoire du soldat," featuring Charles Ferdinand Ramuz's text and Igor Stravinsky's music, created in 1918 (though not by Thomas Fersen)
This year, Thomas Fersen is on tour with his show "Mon frère c'est Dieu sur Terre," inspired by his first novel "Dieu sur terre" (God on Earth). It's a performance where he revisits his repertoire and interprets texts from the intimate journal of his song's character.
