Vincent Segal is a cellist based in Paris. After classical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Lyon, he delved into a wide variety of styles such as jazz, rock, traditional music, and folk. In 1999, he formed the duo Bumcello alongside Cyril Atef, with whom he recorded 6 albums. In 2006, Bumcello won a Victoire de la Musique in the Dance/Electro category.

Vincent Segal has played and recorded with numerous artists including Blackalicious, Nana Vasconcelos, Cesaria Evora, -M-, Sting, Elvis Costello, Alexandre Desplat, Marianne Faithfull, and even collaborated with Oxmo Puccino on acoustic tours. In 2009, he recorded the duo album "Chamber Music" with kora player Ballaké Sissoko, which won the Victoire du Jazz in 2010. It was also named among the top 10 albums of the year by Le Monde, NPR, The Guardian, and The Wall Street Journal.
